One of the best ways to stay sober during and after your treatment at the Hader Clinic Queensland is participating in a 12 Step program.

Depending on your individual circumstances, your therapist will recommend the best program to attend and you will undertake daily meetings while undergoing the treatment program.

As you return to your life after your treatment at the Hader Clinic Queensland, the program will continue to provide you with a network of people who have lived through a similar experience and can understand the difficulties you face in staying clean. It is also a requirement of our transitional housing and aftercare programs.

The 12 Step model is a proven aid to recovery and has helped alcoholics and drug addicts live meaningful and sober lives since 1935. 12 Step will help you understand the triggers for your addictive behaviour and offer an alternative to drinking or taking drugs in those moments.

As part of the program, you will learn to take responsibility for the thoughts and feelings which cause you harm and overcome them to move forward with your life. 12 Step programs help you challenge your thinking to make positive changes in your life.
