Recovery from addiction and a life of being alcohol and drug free are a long term commitment. At the Hader Clinic Queensland we know that you need to leave us equipped with the tools to make that commitment.
Alcohol and drug addiction is not a simple matter of taking things too far. Addiction stems from underlying problems that trigger destructive behaviour. Through cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), your counsellor will work with you to identify the thoughts and feelings that link to your addiction behaviour.
CBT is a popular and effective form of therapy that helps you change your behaviour for good. During your CBT sessions, you will learn how to properly examine your thoughts and recognise the types of negative and damaging thoughts that cause you psychological and physical harm through your drug use.
All CBT therapists at the Hader Clinic Queensland are trained in these well researched and proven techniques to help you challenge your hopeless and anxious thinking and shift to positive and hopeful thoughts. CBT is an extensive program of therapy that adapts to your personal circumstances. As part of the program, you will learn specific tools to support your long term recovery and live a joyful life of sobriety.
The value in CBT is not only in the immediate benefits you’ll experience during your treatment at the Hader Clinic Queensland, but in the skills and techniques you will develop to look after yourself mentally for the rest of your life.
CBT is just one of our addiction treatment programs of our holistic treatment model that comprises five areas of treatment; physical, emotional, social, psychological, and spiritual.
