Alcohol and drug addiction doesn’t only harm the addicted person. Often your family and those close to you will be hurt in some way by your actions.

The Hader Clinic Queensland’s family therapy program offers support to you and your family to make your recovery better. Family therapy can also be an important part of preparing for your return to the family home.

Our family therapy provides family members with professional and supportive counselling sessions with a therapist who understands the pain addiction can cause others. An expert therapist will work with members of the family to help their personal trauma and recovery.

As part of your treatment with the Hader Clinic Queensland, a family therapist may work with your family to identify and address underlying issues that may be caused by or contributing to your alcohol or drug dependence. Counselling sessions can help the family overcome these problems and support the whole family through your recovery process.

Family therapy can also be part of our addiction education program which helps those closest to you understand how addiction works and recognise the signs of relapse.

Family therapy includes a monthly counselling session and family group nights held once a month in the Brisbane office. These sessions are not only to provide family members with support but also education and assistance to move forward with recovery.
