Group therapy helps you understand your drug or alcohol addiction and your path to sobriety by hearing other people’s stories.

In addition to individual counselling, the Hader Clinic Queensland offers group therapy sessions to help your recovery.

Group therapy helps you understand your drug or alcohol addiction and your path to sobriety by hearing other people’s stories. Group therapy recognises that while everyone’s life and experience are different, there are common feelings and thoughts that come with addiction disease.

During group therapy, the Hader Clinic Queensland’s professional and experienced counsellors will support you to share your story when you’re ready and to listen to other people’s personal experiences. Each resident is able to share and reflect on their experiences and emotions felt in the previous 24 hours. By teaching recovering addicts to be able to communicate their feelings they are less likely to suppress the feelings that ultimately lead to them re-using.

At the Hader Clinic Queensland, we know that addiction can lead to feeling helpless and hopeless. Group therapy is also an opportunity to talk to people who understand the reality of living with a drug or alcohol addiction. In group you are free to share in a safe and supportive environment.

In addition to group, your counsellor may also recommend family therapy, 12 Step, or work therapy.
